How Solen Measures

Last updated August 5, 2026. Solen is operated by Troiva LLC.

Solen shows you numbers about your own body, so you deserve to know exactly how they are made and where their limits are. This page is the same one that ships inside the app.

Everything comes from your logs

There is one source of data in this app and it is what you entered. No population averages, no model of what women your age usually report, nothing filled in on your behalf. A day you did not log is treated as missing, never as a day with no symptoms, which is why every figure in the app is shown next to the number of days it was computed from.

The trigger map is an association, not a cause

A trigger map row compares the average severity you logged on days a factor was present with the average on days it was absent. That is a description of your past logs. It cannot tell you which way the arrow points, and there are always other explanations: a bad week at work, a heatwave, an illness, or that both things happen more on weekends for reasons of their own.

A fourteen-day comparison is a clue, not proof

An experiment compares the fortnight you changed something with the fortnight before it. Three things work against reading that as a result. People start experiments when they feel worst, and feeling worst is usually followed by feeling better whatever you do. Symptoms fluctuate on their own. And expecting an improvement produces one. Solen therefore reports what the numbers were, and never that something worked.

Thin data is labeled as thin

Every comparison carries how many days went into it, and a comparison built on a handful of days is marked as provisional rather than presented at the same confidence as a well-covered one. The raw daily chart is always shown alongside the summary, including the days that do not fit the story.

The assistant

Questions you ask are answered by a language model with your recent logs as context. It can be wrong, and it can be confidently wrong. It is there to help you read your own data, not to tell you what is happening to your body or what to do about it.

The report

The report is a summary of what you logged, laid out for a ten-minute appointment. It contains no diagnosis, no score and no recommendation, because none of those are ours to make.

Not medical advice

Solen is not a medical device and none of the above is medical advice. Take it to someone qualified, which is exactly what the report is for.
